Selling your Phinney Ridge home
Put a real marketing team behind your listing!
Living On Stage . . .
You've decided to sell your home and you will be living at the home while it is on the market. Being mentally prepared for the process will help you overcome the frustrations.
The biggest frustration for homeowners that choose to live at the home while trying to get it sold is that they feel like they are living "on stage" for everyone to see. Everything must be spotless every day, every room clutter free, and be ready to run out the door at a moments notice. This is all true but unfortunately it comes with the territory. You might want to consider changing your lifestyle while your home is on the market.
- If you work from 8 to 5, consider having a few places to go every day after work between the hours of 5:00 at 8:00. This will almost always keep you out of the way of buyers in your home.
- On the weekends plan on being out of the house from about 10:00am to 7:00 pm. This is a great opportunity to work on your golf swing, or get caught on other activites that you enjoy.
- Go see movies.
- Hang out at your younger brothers house because he owes you!
- Have a simple check list for items that need to be taken care of daily to keep the home spotless.
- Be prepared to support other members of the home when the stress level increases.
- Try to do normal things outside the home because there will be nothing normal in the home.
- Limit your living space to as few rooms as possible.
These are just a few ideas and I'm sure you can come up with alot of your own. Just be mentally prepared, and don't let it get to you!
